General
How does Rork work?
Describe your app idea in plain English and Rork generates a real, working mobile app. Rork offers two modes: Rork Pro builds cross-platform apps with React Native and Expo, while Rork Max builds native iOS apps with SwiftUI. You can test your app instantly on your phone or in your browser.
Does Rork build real mobile apps?
Yes. Rork builds real, native mobile apps, not web wrappers or prototypes. Rork Pro uses React Native and Expo, the same production framework behind Discord, Shopify, Coinbase, and nearly 30% of top 100 apps on the App Store. Rork Max builds native SwiftUI apps compiled with Xcode, the exact same toolchain every iOS developer uses. Both produce apps you can publish to the App Store.
What is the difference between Rork Pro and Rork Max?
Rork Pro ($25-$100/month) builds cross-platform apps with React Native and Expo that run on iOS, Android, and web. It is great for building apps quickly across all platforms. Rork Max ($200+/month) builds native SwiftUI apps for Apple platforms including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro. Max produces premium Apple-native UI, is powered by Opus 4.8 for higher quality code and design, and unlocks advanced capabilities like widgets, Live Activities, Dynamic Island, Siri intents, ARKit, HealthKit, 3D games with SceneKit, and more. Max also includes one-click iPhone install, two-click App Store publishing, and priority chat support. Pro subscribers get 5 free Max uses per week to try it out.
Do I need coding experience to make my mobile app?
No. Rork builds your app completely from plain English, no coding required. Thousands of apps have been published to the App Store and Google Play by people with zero development experience, built entirely with Rork.
What types of apps can I build?
With Rork Pro, you can build cross-platform apps with multiple screens, AI features (chat, voice, image generation), on-device data storage, and third-party API integrations. With Rork Max, you can additionally build 3D games, AR experiences, apps with widgets, Live Activities, Dynamic Island, Apple Watch apps, Vision Pro apps, health and fitness apps with HealthKit, smart home apps with HomeKit, and more.
Can I use Rork for professional or business purposes?
Yes, you can use Rork for professional and business purposes on any plan.
Technical
Are Rork apps actually native iOS/Android apps? Or just web apps?
They are fully native apps. Rork Pro uses React Native and Expo, a production-grade framework that compiles to real native code, not web views. Rork Max uses SwiftUI, Apple's own native framework, compiled with Xcode, the same toolchain behind every app in the App Store. These are the same technologies used by the world's top apps.
How does Rork Max build native iOS apps in the browser?
Rork Max runs real Macs in the cloud loaded with Xcode and the full iOS SDK. When you send a message, an AI agent writes SwiftUI code, compiles it with Xcode, reads errors, fixes them, and builds again. The same cycle every iOS developer does, except it takes minutes. The preview you see is a real iOS Simulator streaming to your browser over a low-latency protocol. Every animation and gesture runs exactly as it would on a real iPhone.
Can I use Rork to build production-ready apps?
Yes. Both Rork Pro and Rork Max produce production-ready code in industry-standard tech stacks. You can publish directly to the App Store from Rork. If you need more advanced features, you can sync with GitHub and continue development locally or hire engineers to finish specific features.
Does Rork Pro work on both iOS and Android?
Yes. Rork Pro builds cross-platform apps with Expo that run on both iOS and Android, and can also be exported to the web.
What Apple platforms does Rork Max support?
Rork Max builds native SwiftUI apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro. It also supports platform-specific features like widgets, Live Activities, Dynamic Island, Siri intents, and iMessage apps.
Can I build a web app with Rork?
Rork Pro (Expo) apps can also run on the web. We do not offer web hosting, but you can export the code and deploy to Vercel, Netlify, or any hosting provider. Rork Max apps are iOS-only and do not run on the web.
Integrations
Can I integrate with a database like Supabase or Firebase?
Yes. Just ask Rork to integrate with Supabase or Firebase and it will handle the setup for you.
What is Rork Backend?
Rork Backend provides serverless functions that auto-scale and can securely call third-party APIs or connect to external databases. It works similarly to Supabase Functions but is more secure because your API keys stay on the server, never in the app bundle. We host the backend for all paid users so you can use it in production.
How can I build apps with AI features like chat, voice, or image generation?
Rork integrates with OpenAI and other AI providers. On paid plans, we host the AI for you, no API keys needed. Just ask Rork to add AI chat, voice transcription, or image generation and it works out of the box.
Can I integrate with business tools like Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, or my own API?
Yes. Tell Rork which service you want to connect to and it will generate the integration. For best results, paste a link to the service's API documentation in the chat.
Can I import Figma designs into Rork?
Yes. Copy your Figma screen frames as images and paste them into the Rork chat, or bulk-export all screens and drag-and-drop them in. Rork will use them as a reference to build your UI.
How can I add in-app purchases or subscriptions?
Both Rork Pro and Rork Max have built-in RevenueCat integration for in-app purchases and subscriptions. Just ask Rork to set up payments and it will handle the integration for you. Watch our tutorial to get started: https://youtu.be/nJe4jK2jk8A
How can I add authentication to my app?
You can add sign in to your app by integrating Supabase Auth. Just ask Rork to set it up and it will handle the integration for you. Works on both Rork Pro and Rork Max. Rork Max also supports native Apple Sign In directly. Watch our tutorial to get started: https://youtu.be/GP9IN0CKdTk
How can I add notifications?
Just ask Rork to add notifications to your app. It works on both Rork Pro and Rork Max out of the box.
Publishing
What is App Preview? Can I share my app without the App Store?
App Preview lets you test your app on your phone before publishing to the App Store. For Rork Pro, scan the QR code and open it in the Expo Go app. For Rork Max, you need a Mac and the Rork companion app on your laptop. Plug your iPhone into your Mac and it will download the app directly onto your phone.
How do I publish to the App Store?
Rork has built-in App Store publishing. Click Publish and follow the steps. You will need an Apple Developer Account. With Rork Max, publishing is just two clicks, your app is compiled and submitted directly from the cloud. With Rork Pro, you will also need an Expo account for the build process.
How do I publish to Google Play or download an AAB?
For Android projects, click Upload. Rork generates an Android App Bundle (.aab); you upload it manually in Play Console. APK downloads remain useful for emulator and direct device testing. Follow the setup guide: https://docs.rork.com/submitting-to-play-store/creating-the-aab-file. Rork Max apps are iOS-only and cannot be published to Google Play.
Code Export
Can I export the code?
Yes, you own all generated code on paid plans. Use the GitHub integration to export your code and continue development in Cursor, VS Code, or any IDE. Rork Pro exports a React Native/Expo project. Rork Max exports a native SwiftUI Xcode project.
How do I export the code?
Subscribe to a paid plan, sign in to GitHub, and use Rork's GitHub integration to sync your code. It is a two-way sync, so you can also make changes locally and import them back into Rork.

Yes. Invite collaborators by email or shareable link with editor or viewer roles. You can also create teams to organize multiple projects under a shared workspace.

Will support fix issues with my code?

Rork is stuck in an error loop. What should I do?
Ask Rork to search the web for the error, try switching to a different AI model, or revert to a previous working version and try implementing the feature again with a different approach.
